The Intricate Art of Spinning

Organic cotton fibers, being very sensitive in nature, needs special attention during spinning. The first process is preparing the fibers which includes cleaning and separating the fibers which are done by state-of-the-art blow room system. The following step is carding which is again a machine-operated process done by setting hundreds of fine wires to produce rope-like strands of parallel fibers. Fiber combing is the next crucial step that gives the strands a smooth finish by removing the short rough strands. The next step is drawing out the fibers which is done by passing the strands through a series of rotating rollers at different speeds into a uniform strand. Again this uniform strand is given an additional twist to form finer roving. Ring spinning is the next step where the roving is fed through rollers around the stationary ring at 12000 – 15000 revolutions/minute. This constant turning of the spindle lends yarn the required twist in a single direction.
